Project Description: Using accelerated bridge construction (ABC) techniques the entire superstructure was replaced over Thanksgiving weekend to minimize disruptions to nearby businesses. Staged construction and long-term closure options were ruled out since it is the only access to five businesses on one side of Montour Run.

Notable Features of Project: The new 22.5 x 44.8 feet superstructure was assembled at a staging area adjacent to the existing bridge, and a grid deck overfilled with lightweight concrete was used to reduce the crane pick weight. The project finished up on Saturday of Thanksgiving weekend, 1.5 days ahead of schedule.
